HOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Whooooweeeeee. It has been a while since I've blogged. A lot has changed since I was last here.

Biggest of all the events is that I'm seeing so many concerts now. I'm gona head over to HK in two weeks time to see the Gorillaz. Gorillaz "On Melancholy Hill"  I've posted it before, but well here it is again :)

I've just seen the Gin Blossoms two nights ago wherein I relived my 16 year old self but forgot to wear my doc martens and flannel shirt.  That was a good start actually.

Apparently, I found out that Green Day will be coming over in January, and Aerosmith sometime in Feb.  Also in February, the Deftones are coming over (!) and I will again go back to HK around the 18th to see Eric Clapton.  My life is full of music anyway, may as well have visuals to go with the soundtracks. :)

I am single again after a long period and having a great time at my new job.  It's an interesting thing that everything seemed to fall into place recently.  Not that I wanted to be single or anything but events following that seem to be I don't know, something I needed. Perhaps the shock did it.

Now that it is November, I don't understand this whole thing with the mustache.  What's up with that?  Why November? Can't we be mustachioed all year round?? Just a thought.

Still trying to figure out WHAT color under heaven I can make my room.  I know it will be in the faded sort of near pastel-ly range of color, and that the hue will be green or blue, but WHAT?  I must start before the end of the year comes.  I don't want my room to not be ready for New Years.

Something like this hue of green...but a little more blue....does that make ANY sense?
via
Or like the blue of that pillow all the way to the right of the frame but a little more green.

But yeah that PALE. :)  I'll know it when I see it!!!

I'm also, I THINK, becoming a bonafide girl after say, about 25 years.  I'm starting to like all these wedge booties.  And I'm starting to use the word "LIKE" a lot.  Like, right there.

And oh the new job.  The new job is much like me being the fish and the job being the water.  JOY.  Not only can it make my career, but I know I can kick ass in it.  Which, I will. :)  So, though it has been a sucky year, the end looks like it's turning on itself and is giving me a little reprieve.  YAY ME!  YAY LIFE! :)

So everything is looking good coming into the Christmas season.  I hope I do more blogging soon, I really should get back into it. :)  I think I''ll re-dye my hair red just for the occasion.

Steady Sunday

As I type, it's overcast and the room has darkened a bit.  It's 4pm and it looks like it's dusk already.  The wind is getting stronger, which usually means tonight there will be rain.

I love this kind of weather.  :)  Reminds me of England!

Then of course, reality bites me in the butt:

The mountain of dishes yet to be cleaned. *sigh* Didn't know porkchops took this much work :) hehehe!!!  Twas worth it though.

O there it is.  I know why I'm a moving sloth-like today!  It is because I stayed up for the England vs. USA!!  Yeah that ended up at 5am Philippine time. A draw.  A DRAW I TELL YOU!  Ah well, the boys will come back fighting.  I can feel it!

I like this saying:

Oh and I think I want the jewelry in THIS SITE. Fawn fawn fawn over the rings.  Gorgeous :)

Yesterday, I'm happy to inform you, that I got a hand held blender!  I'm excited to use it for smoothies and soups and sauces. :)  Thanks to C who bought it for me!! :D  Not bad either, since it was priced under Php1000.

Here are a few links I found browsing the blogging world today:

That lovely dress came from THIS lovely lady :)

So there you go!!  Oh hey, do you like the new layout of the site? :)  I tried to put together something that had green and hot pink in it.  This is as close as I could get! :)  I hope you like it!!

Happy weekend! :)

Halloween 2009

I've decided to forgo Halloween this year even with all the planning I was doing throughout the earlier part for the costume I wanted.  And still want. :)

 via

This is the character Toph, from one of my favorite cartoons (I'm not sure I can call it an anime), "Avatar: The Last Airbender".  She is an earthbender and becomes friends with the main cast of kids in this cartoon.  She fights so well and is just funny.  I wanted to be her this Halloween.  Well, there's always NEXT year, right? :)

The factors of my quitting my job, using the mulah I've had left over to tide me over til the next job, and all that lovely (the freedom) and equally crappy (the bills) grownup stuff, has left me to beg off Halloween completely.....:( And it's my favorite holiday, aside from my birthday.

Also because the last few days has been spent in the company of wonderful friends over endless drinks and food.  Last night in particular, I had a gig which has caused my absence here for a bit, for I had to to kick ass.  To do so I went to practice, not only with the band I would be playing with but also just to get my drumming up to scratch.  These guys are veterans.  They can play stuff in their sleep.  Literally.  I think they probably do.

Anyway, they're almost like the kings of rock and roll here in the Philippines.  I remember in 90 or 91, theirs was the first video I saw in MTV when I was still living in New York.  I remember thinking, "Hey.  They're singing in tagalog."  That was cool. :)  Now, 17 some years later, I get to play alongside them.  And according to my friends who went last night, I didn't do too bad a job at it.  I was sky high by the time I got off stage.  It was wonderful.  I miss playing live with a bunch of people who I like, and just playing the music.  It's a different high and feeling from anything and everything I know.  AHLAVEET.

Tonight I have to take out a these out of towners who are lovely and on vacation.  I'm still trying to see where I can take them.

So see?  Tomorrow needs to be a rest day.  I want to be able to read again, and call my own time.  Not get too tired which I feel I'm heading towards.  :(  I cannot burn myself out!  Monday I have a job interview, well my 2nd one with that company that I want to be part of.  Apparently, they do the 2nd interviews over drinks.  I have to be well up for that.  :)  Also, on the job front anyway, I got a writing gig that will start next week with a PR firm.  I'm glad that I'll have a few ways of earning now I'm out of the crazy job.  I think I'll be able to push myself further with these two.  So, so far, all the things that have come since quitting this job (well, aside from the lack of mulahs), are pointing in a happy direction indeed.  It seems that I've made the right choice, which I'm truly happy about.

So though I will unfortunately not be doing anything nuts this Halloween, as per usual, I will be completely weird and stay home with all my books and my two furballs.  Maybe even a massage....oooooh.  Now THERE'S an idea!

Now to read through the list of blogs :D  Have a great day!

Slow and Steady Sunday

Just a quick blog today.

I'm so happy that the event of Friday went well, and I want to thank my lovely friends who went!!  (not sure though how many of them know about this blog yet....oh well)  :)  Smashing time and great art!!!

Which means, I stayed home yesterday and hung out.  I finished 5 DVDs of West Wing, FIVE!!!  I think I started around 6pm and ended around 2 or 3am!  I couldn't stop.  So it wasn't any wonder that my dreams had me running around offices in a suit with loads of paperwork in my arms.  WEIRD.  I realised that one of the things I like about the show is that it keeps up the pace that is in the White House (or rather what we ASSUME is the pace) by doing shots that catch the cast walking and moving, hardly any shots that are stationary.  Or those that are, they're stationary for a reason.

Whatever it is, I HEART WEST WING.  HEART HEART HEART.  :)

I've gotta go pick up some books today, IF I can peel myself away from the cocoon that is my apartment.  Ah well.  I aslo have to make a decision with resigning this week and what to do about the financial backlash I will have to endure because of it.  EGAD.

I can do this.  I just need to buckle down and get to it.

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!!

steady Sunday

Just chilling at home, and finishing my delivered fries from Mcdonald's.  Musing about life and where it has gotten me.  Seeing my new beautiful tattoo and knowing the pain was worth it. :)
I stayed in last night, which I haven't done in a while and just watched West Wing.  Felt awesome!  And wow do I love that show now more than ever before.  I've never really gotten the nuances and small "in" jokes they had since I'd watch it sporadically and only when it was on.  Thank the heavens my friend has the complete series and was kind enough to lend it to me.  :)
But I'm so happy that I got my tattoo.  This is the tattoo I've been wanting for what, 7 years now?  I thought about it during the darker part of my life, when I was going nowhere fast and when I simultaneously realised that I wasn't that I wasn't the center of ANY universe.  That was also the time I found myself, what I wanted, where I wanted to go and most importantly WHAT I WANTED TO BE.  So this tattoo means more to me than the others, just because it is not because of anyone else, FOR anyone else, but it was my own realisation that life, MY LIFE, will not be anyone else's.  It's crazy to think that 7 years ago, which seems like a whole entire lifetime ago now, something that I thought, still applies today.
It says "OMNES MET DAEMONES VIRES AMISERINT" in Latin. I took it from lyrics of a song of Fat Boy Slim and Macy Gray, and it says, "ALL OF MY DEMONS WILL WITHER AWAY".  The reason why I wanted the placement on my right foot is because my demons will always be my weakness, just as Achilles had his heel (which by most accounts was his right one).  Also because of the placement, my demons are my weakness, but something I also figuratively step on, and therefore can get over and overcome.  Thus, the tattoo.  S is a really good tattoo artist and I'm so happy she did this for me.  She even did it so it looked Elven!  The geek in me reigns supreme :)
Anyway, I'm going to go back to being horizontal for a while.  I like Sundays :)

Steady Sunday

I love today.  Today I spent completely horizontal.  Meaning, all I did today was read and sleep.  A perfect Sunday.  I think C and I will soon go to dinner, but since it's not only Sunday, but there is no work tomorrow, we're just taking our time.  And I think HE fell asleep now.

Had a great time last night.  Though I love gigs that I usually go to, I went to a comedy night last night with my friend Raptor and K.  Raptor played a some guitar before the comedians, and K and I sadly didn't catch his entire set.  BUT, we did see the 5 comedians that followed.  Some were so so but the last one, Mike Unson, was absolutely hilarious.  I didn't even know 2 hours had passed by until I looked at my mobile and saw the time.  I was just laughing like I haven't laughed in a long time.  I'm so happy Raptor invited us.  He'll be over tomorrow so we can jam for Tuesday's gig.

Lazy nice steady Sunday.  Must go back to bed.

Hope all is well on your weekend! :)
