Friday afternoon

This is the Friday afternoon of the first long weekend we have this month. Yes, we have TWO.  And not only do we have TWO, they are BACK TO BACK.  So next week is also another long (I think it is actually even a long-er) weekend. YAY!!! :)

So here I am, picking up where I've slacked off with you my poor, unread blog and I'm here to give you some necessary attention :)

Saw the usually fantastic stuff online today that I want to share! :)  Here we go :) Oh and as I write, here is a little SOUNDTRACK for you to listen to, if you feel so inclined :)

I know that somewhere in my city (Manila, Philippines), I can do this...  Though when I will need a sweatshirt, considering it doesn't get colder than 25 degrees Celsius, is beyond me. I know! I can do this to tshirts :)

Hilarious "theory" :)

I am technically not a fan of table cloths, but I think I may do this DIY one for the cats, like a little curtain for the litter area

I love how these bookshelves go into  the wall. I'm still trying to think if this is how I want mine. Maybe in a bigger space and not this current apartment.

I wish we could do things like these here in Manila.

I have a feeling I will be using THIS SITE A WHOLE LOT.

When I have kids, I have a feeling that I will do my own version of this :)  Pretty neat :)

I want to do this to whatever house/apartment/condo I am in, which is to set apart a space, whoever small, just to BE. These are great examples of that.

AND! These stamp-like wall rollers are giving me ideas too of what I can do in my own home :) OR you can just go straight into their website, http://the-painted-house.co.uk/

I am loving this HOUSE PLAN, but maybe not the same exact stuff... and not the same colour definitely.

And THIS is just an overall great reminder :)

This weekend, I am planning to bank articles and do some research on a secret project I'm doing.  I owe my tito this for a very long time.  But next weekend, I'm going on a baking spree. I haven't been able to do ANY baking in a long time, so this will be fun.

I also need to start brain storming on what to write about in the other blog with the boyfie.

Until then my dear blog :)  *hug*

Frustrated Friday

Today I am a little frustrated with my job situation.  I'm actually thinking of moving to a new one, but I gave my word I wouldn't.  Thing is, though there are all sorts of other usual, job related problems that I can more or less handle, I can't see why the finance team keeps docking my pay. I have had more or less the same absences since the last time, and it is now 2/3rds of what I'm supposed to be getting.

URG MONEY. I hate it.

On to better and brighter things :)

There is this: I never realised we owed so much to William Shakespeare.

I especially love the bottom left hand outfit of pure white. So clean and lovely, perfect for sunny days in this tropical temperatures.

An interesting idea for jeans :) It's the fit that is the hardest part anyway.

I will use this as inspiration for my own closet :)

Then, there is Serge and Jane :)

Gray and white, white and gray :)  Heart heart heart it.

Loving the contrasts of these materials.

Using the following as inspiration for my own home as I have so many old posters and hings I want to keep.

I need a picture / art wall. :) Must clean up my toys and old piles and organise it this weekend.

Anyway, a happy Friday everyone! :)

Stuff I saw :)

I miss having jammies...  Though the Philippines isn't the best weather for this so it's ok. But I do wish I had feet pajammies sometimes. I miss those.  Those are really comfy.

I love Elle Fanning. She's seems like a cool chick.

Pretty things as I high five the weekend. :) HAPPY FRIDAY! :)

A Friday in December

So the year is coming to an end and though it sure had its own dramas, it was more drama free than the last three years prior. Truth be told, I haven't had a more fun year. If I am to go through why this is, which I sort of reviewing any way in my mind, I would start with one word: CHANGE. I was single for a long time (since last year), after 4 years and by choice, spent the majority of this year as such, so I got to know a lot of new people.  Then I did one of my biggest fears of my life, which was to quit the corporate life, job and steady pay.  I am now self employed, with me trying to get gigs and clients to work with.  Thus far, I have been more than lucky, I've been downright BLESSED.

Because of all these changes, I now appreciate the little things in life such as my breakfast.  I love breakfasts anyway, but today I really loved mine.

Technically it is one of my favorite breakfasts of all time, a cheesy omelet topped with flat leaf parsley and mixed in with a dash of nutmeg and a wee bit of cayenne pepper.  Apart from that, it is DEAD EASY to make.  Throw in a few slices of toasted multi-grain bread, slather on some butter and YUM.

A close up! :) Yummy. See the melted cheese on the sides???

My favorite mug and civet coffee that I got from Vietnam earlier this year. YUM. Bit of condensed milk in there then away we go :)

 This is more or less my view when I wake up in the morning :)

Panthro

Then the cats take over the bed and the rest of my day.
Looking at Panthro, who wouldn't want to be a cat, right? All fluffy and vibrating.

A friend of mine is currently in Helsinki in Finland, a place I've always wanted to go to, and at the same time I saw this today as well :)

This is so so so my style of house, I love it.  I would probably add a little more color though, pale greens and blues maybe, and a splash of red somewhere.  I guess what they call Modern Rustic?  Much like this. Urg, Universe send me some mulahs! HAHAHAHA!

If there was another word to describe this year, it would be OPPORTUNITY.  I am being given such wonderful opportunities that I thought would not be available to me unless I had a day job.  Nowadays, I wake up late, stay up til when I like, and have had been able to get the jobs that I actually was dreaming about in the day job.  It is great! :) I can't wait til I start with it all! :) A movie (indie flick), then a new MP3 player, also there are some other things in the pipelines that aren't sure yet.
Apart from that, I have the opportunity with changing the jaded & cynical way I have been since forever, thanks to a new person in my life. I will slowly introduce him, but I will take my time in doing so.  We just get on really well, and he's slowly turning into one of my bestest friends.

Now, I will end this by doing
TEN THINGS THAT MAKE ME TERRIBLY HAPPY THIS DECEMBER based on this blog.

Here we go:
1. the gloomy weather; I like grey weather;
2. I also like the cool breeze when it is sunny;
3. white cheddar popcorn with a dash of cayenne pepper;
4. hot dark chocolate, also with a dash of cayenne pepper;
5. warm feet and hands;
6. cold and crisp sheets;
7. my friend Camille's baked brie;
8. midnight snack dates to secret places;
9. being home and being able to call my own time;
10. realizing that my dreams are actually DOABLE and getting them DONE.

Talk again soon :) Til then, keep toasty!

Friday before the 32nd

It's the Friday before my 32nd birthday.  It's going to be a crazy CRAZY weekend.  Starting tonight, my friends will gather at C's resto / bar and help me usher in the weekend.  Then tomorrow, C and I will go to a concert of all these awesome local bands.  Then on Sunday, MY BIRTHDAY, we'll be seeing Tears for Fears.  THEN! On Monday yet ANOTHER celebration at Izakaya, this place I DJ :)

The joy the rapture!  And I got two books yesterday for P300.  A good omen if there ever was one.  :D

Things are looking up.
I am loving THESE little spaces!!!  AAAAAAAAARH....if I could, I WOULD do this to my place....

Isn't that office space awesome?  Look at all those books!!  *faint*

Those flowers....well of COURSE it's bloody South of France.  What I'd give to be a housewife and live there, and raise my kids........I can go on.

OH.  I want to look like THIS LADY.  I've been wanting to cut my hair.  I just might do it.  I may start a new job soon.  I think I need the new hair.  White blonde or red? :)  Or jet black with electric blue streaks?  I can't decide.  HELP :)

SPECTACULAR BLOG. This art is just AMAZING.

After um, almost 5 months (yes I know I suck)?  I've finally learned how to input music into my phone.  Any music you guys recommend for being stuck in wherever?  Offices? Lines? :)

Til next week.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! :)  Have a great weekend!

Friday Friday Friday

For a Friday, today seems pretty mellow.  I'm not complaining at ALL, I actually like it and I'm excited to stay home and read tonight. And to top it all off I'm seeing Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Jojo tomorrow!

I should get some inspiration for new beats at that concert.  Which is good, considering I feel like my drumming has plateaued recently. :(  I haven't been able to practice as much as I'd like, so I  feel like I need to shoot some new inspiration into me.

Which I hope this concert does.

I like this hat

I want this desk.  It is exactly the shape and size I envision for my desk at my home office. Maybe with nice little drawers underneath :)  Maybe in RED.

And that THIS was really, really, really funny, but it sure looks really comfortable.

These are some crazy but cool shoes

I wanna try out THIS RECIPE.  Seems easy enough.

I don't know if I've mentioned it here before, but I like Jane Austen.  I've just finished reading "Pride and Prejudice" and I'm happy to say, I now know firsthand why it's a classic.  It is beautifully written!  And I wish that more people who write romance novels write it this way.  Then again, it is an era I suppose.  But see, and maybe this is because I'm in my 30s, but I believe that courtship is important to a relationship.  It is what lengthens the anticipation, and the little what we call in tagalog, "kilig"  moments.  It's when you get the butterflies in your stomach, that anticipation of what could come, the ifs and buts of the early stages of romance.

Sorry I turned really girly there, but it's true.  Most girls like that.  Not necessarily cheesiness, more of just romantic.  As Franz Kafka said:

Oh. And I think I will build a fort soon.  Forts are COOL Maybe I can have a picnic or something. Yes.  That's a good plan.  For the birthday.  I can make a fort in the roofdeck of my building and have a picnic.  YAY!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AHEAD EVERYONE :)

Friday

This should be a happy day but somehow, it isn't. Tomorrow I have to work on two projects...well one can wait really, but the other must be done. I cannot go out anymore because I must work and stay home and tonight, I will rest early. Yes yes, I know, I've said it before. But I will say it again, and this time it will be true, SO HELP ME GOD!

When I get home tonight, I will only focus on sleeping and doing so early so I can start early tomorrow and allow me to have some breakfast.

Tonight I will go home, then eat, then sleep. Since the flat has just been cleaned, it will be nice and fresh to come home. I will head out in a while. Give it another hour or two. Meanwhile I will read through blogs for ideas on what to do. Scriptwriting is not exactly my forte. Fingers crossed.
