Tuesday night

Still trying to get over this crappy head cold... and somewhat cough and fever. I'm scared it is dengue, but so far my fever has broken and after having some really hot noodle soup, my body seems to just need more rest and maybe a little chocolate.

Anyway, today is about (half delusional) ideas. And boy do I have one.  I need to hone it more just to be sure. All I'm going to say is that it is about food.

I've decided that I will go to the hardware / house stuff store and buy me about 4-5 black frames and start cross stitching again.  Maybe some nice cute little messages, inspiring little things that they usually put on posters, then hang them about my home :)

Not a bad guide really... 17 things to make your life easier

These tattoos are lovely! And thanks to this post, I now remember one of my besties owes me a tat session. I want matching swallows near my elbow area.

Need to do more braids and ponytails.

And I am so sad that this man died tonight.

He was the best comedian in the Philippines. RIP Dolphy. Thank you for making us laugh for so long. Thank you, Dolphy.

And now, good night.

If I ever become a mom.....

...............I will strive the utmost to look like THIS with my daughter, if I have one. :)  So cute and cool. :)

Nice post Christmas chilled out grooves HERE, courtesy of my lovely cousin. (Labyoo Pixiepatu!)

A Christmas song from one of my favorite local bands (and they were with us in Singapore last year), HERE

Thanks to Ashton Kutcher's twitter for THIS GEM

One of the best tributes to all we lost in our little artsy-fartsy-activitst-rebel-underground world this year in Manila, my friend Gang explains their memories all so beautifully HERE.  I admit, I didn't know all of them, and some only peripherally, but this is enough to have made me shed a few tears today in remembrance of all we've lost this last year.

I'd just like to add one more.  It's time I did.

This was my cousin, Mike Ledesma.  He died on October 14th in his sleep.  We were technically not cousins, but my only sister in law was his mother's younger sister, aka his Aunt.  Since I lived with my sister in law and my brother for a long while, he and his brothers would always be around.  They were like brothers to me as well, and since Mike and I were the same age (I was older by about 7 months), we'd more or less hang out with the same people through our schools and whatnot.

The months, and even the few years before he died, we weren't as close as we once were.  But whenever we'd see each other, hugging would ensue.

This was the last ever picture I have of him and with him.  He was such a kind heart and a fun crazy guy.  And to him, I will always say, "I LOVE YOU MORE CUZ". :D

Long time entry....THANKSGIVING

It feels like it's been such a long time since I posted last.  I will try and do this justice by bullet points.  The short version of the story is that these last 2-3 weeks have been absolutely crap.  Let me emphasize that: ABSOLUTELY FULL OF CRAP.

Let me begin:

  • I went to the beach and got a really REALLY bad allergic reaction to food, which sent me straight to the doctor on literally, another island.  Got back to Manila had to have checkups and I was on meds.

  • A week later, drama ensued when C was nowhere to be found.  This part is his story, but I will say that those were the worst, and I mean WORST 12 hours of my life.  Not knowing where someone is, is NOT BLOODY COOL.

  • On top of all these anxiety attacks, plus those that come when the bills and rent statements come in, I had to bring myself to the ER twice in a span of 8 hours last Friday.  A rash last week kept spreading and though they kept shooting me up with steroids, it came back later on that night...which led to me being admitted into the hospital (by the insistence of C and the docs) for the weekend.  All glorious fun.  I'm now on hospital grade meds til next week.  They will have to test me next week as to what I'm allergic to since they couldn't do it this weekend.  The reason is that if they had added more allergens (?) into my system, however small, it could just send me into a coma style allergic reaction because I was hypersensitive already.  To add onto that, they found a slight infection from the urinalysis.

*SIGH*

Thanksgiving is today.  I'm going to say that I'm thankful for still being alive despite all this; being able to maintain relationships with my family and friends where they still love me, and for the music.  ALWAYS the music.  If not for the music, I would be clawing at walls now.   To list some of the other things I'm thankful for:

  • I'm thankful for my kitties who keep me company even though I know they only see me as a food dispenser / bed / tummy scratcher.

  • For "Mad Men" and "West Wing" for being intelligent escapes.

  • For the internet that endlessly keeps me entertained with fluff.

  • Aromatherapy for making my nose happy.

  • Medicines that keep whatever is wrong with me at bay.

  • My new job which I hope will start paying soon.

  • Canned goods and microwave jalapeno popcorn.

  • C for letting me in.

  • Water - which I will now treat as my siamese twin.

  • Cigarettes - my ugliest and filthiest habit, and favorite (and only) vice.  You suck, cigarettes, but I love you, all at the same time.

  • The holiday season, which is letting me know that slowly, but surely, this horrible year is coming to an end.

  • Thankful for thanksgiving today to mark the long weekend ahead.

Hope you all have a good Thanksgiving, whomever is reading this.  :)
