Shelves

This gave me an idea of where I want my shelves, FINALLY. I hope C agrees. ;)

Shelves need not be straight one on top of the other after all. :)

Maudlin Monday

After having such a long weekend, it is hard to come back to a job you really don't like. There I said it. I don't like my job. I'm not happy anymore. I can't trust anyone to NOT screw me over. People are setting me up for things that I never commited to, and will use that as an excuse to the higher powers to show was an inept individual I am and not getting on with the team, blah blah blah. I don't really care. I'm here for the paycheque. And for the hours that I can blog and search through the web. HAHAHA!! I know it's unprofessional, and it may not look good on the CV, but at this point, I don't really care so long as I'm getting the paycheque.

Enough negativity! :D Now to regale you with something....tragically funny....I suppose that's the word for it. If it were ever made into a film or skit of some sort, I suppose it would fall under the category of "dramedy". ANYWAY!

Yesterday was a surreal day. I got locked in my own bathroom. Yep you read that right. I got stuck/locked in the damn bathroom. FOR TWO HOURS. Now, this being the PHilippines, the humidity level is high and therefore, when I got out of that bathroom, after trying to use pliers and several screws to bash the door in, I was physically soaking wet. My shins were sweaty. Aside from that, when they (C and my lovely best friend Em who is also my neighbor) bashed in the door, I hid behind the toilet, in the shower, and when the door finally went down, I jumped for joy, got my shorts caught on the faucet in the shower, and the entire thing came off, which spouted water everywhere.

In hindsight, it is HILARIOUS. At the time, my elation was deflated as quickly as it came.

Anyway, moving on. It's Monday, it's a new week, a happy time, beginnings, etc. So looking forward to this week, these are my general plans:

1) to finish writing the story for my friend, who I'm teaming up with to write that weird children's story...I owe him the other half...and I WILL EDIT IT!;

2) Help my friend/bandmate put on a fundraising gig for her dad byt confirming the bands by end of the week, fingers crossed;

3) To confirm all the meeting details for the Art weekends at C's resto, the little project I'm doing for him;

4) To follow up with all the job opportunities that are coming my way, projects and whatnot;

5) Keep on with the band, and make sure everything's cool with that and come up with lyrics for one song;

6) Try not to sleep at work (hehehehe);

7) Try to keep my head for two weeks til I hear from that job.....man I really want it!

8) Relax for the upcoming long weekend. :)

I'm thinking of bringing my laptop to work. I don't know if that's a good idea, if I have to commute to work. Hmmm...If it's one of those days I'm riding with C then maybe. I think I can get more things done that way and I can also transfer all my files from my office computer to my laptop already. NICE.

I'm sorry to be such a grumpyburg today. I'm just not up to being too happy. I suppose I'm also tired with the bit of drinking I had last night with friends. I swear, I need to keep off the juice for a while. I should be happy about being able to organise my bookshelves into a more presentable state! And that I managed to fit all of them in...wow yeah. That really was a feat. And I couldn't believe I'd read all those books (though I was proud too hehehehe). I should take a picture and put it up here.

As of now, this picture will keep me happy for the rest of the day, and hopefully make me forget I don't have running water at home until that stupid faucet is fixed.

Aaah my kittens. The one in the back is my little boy Panthro, and the one stretching itself out there in the foreground is my little girl Katara. They make my life happier. :)

My favorite Kylie song

I felt that I needed to put my favorite Kylie song here in my blog.

BREATHE
Don't blame me just because I am bored,
I'm needy I need to taste it all,
don't doubt me just because I am quiet,
I'm thinking, thinking about it all.
I'm helpless against the way of me, a
nd I'm thinking, thinking about it all,
I'm sorting everything inside

I'm looking in the space, this
time this void, I'm making
my way through the muddy
minutes, the pull is in my
muscle, the ache is in my
bones, it's hard to be alone

Breathe, it won't be long now breathe

See through me when I put up a fight,
I'd like you to see the things I hide,
go deeper than I will let you know,
I'm frightened but I won't let it show,
I'm helpless against the way of me,
and I'm thinking, thinking about it all,
I'm sorting everything inside

I'm looking in the space, this
time this void, I'm making
my way through the muddy
minutes, the pull is in my
muscle, the ache is in my
bones, it's hard to be alone

Breathe, it won't be long
now, breathe

Testy Thursday

Due to my exciting prospect of a job with a marvelous interview yesterday, I am now excited and rearing to start some projects in the midst of a slight hangover from having too much fun with the girls jamming last night.

Anyway! Since there is no work tomorrow, I've decided on a few things to do to occupy my time.

1) I'm really supposed to get this book in Fully Booked anyway, so I may as well tomorrow when there's no work. I want to teach myself more about Search Engine Optimization. Yeah. Boring.

2) I will measure the walls where I want the shelves to go and make it final. This includes figuring out where to put all my toys and robots.

3) I will also measure the seats of the dining set because I just got inspiration with this picture to make some for my black and white apartment:

Stupid me I forgot which website this came from. I think Living Etc.

Isn't the print in the middle just lovely? The green and white one? I so want it and I think it would look pretty with my pure black chairs.

4) Finally decide on these block shelves that we saw in True Value yesterday. Hoping hoping we get it :) Since there are 3 that come in one box, maybe we can get two and put the other "blocks" all over the place. Must decide soon so I can have it put up. We can wrap them up in different light patterns and colors just to add a little "something" to the room and shelves.

I wish I had more money to play with so I can make all this happen with my flat. Speaking of which....I must follow up with my friend Teeth and ask about the framing of all those posters in the house. We gotta put those up too.
Then I also want to make enough money to be able to buy me a bottle of Chanel No. 5. :) Maybe take a vacation with C and eat and sunbathe. AAAAAAAAAH...that'd be the life. :D

Productive Wednesday

YAY! Today was very productive. Thus far, I've done so many things today more than I have in a while, which is making me feel GREAT! And my day hasn't ended yet, with jamming and song writing later.

I've FINALLY taken my kitties to the vet today, and got them de wormed, cleaned their mite ridden (poor kitties) ears, and got their nails clipped. I also got some vitamins for them and more ear drops to control the mites.

But the BIGGEST thing to happen is that today I had the best job interview ever. It's not what I was looking for, granted, but it IS something I have been thinking of pursuing for a while. It is a challenge for sure, and if I DO get the job, then I know I will learn and grow professionally. At least this job will hold my interest. Long hours and such don't scare me TOO much, but.....ah well, let's just see what happens. Fingers crossed.

Tonight will be the meeting of the new band. I hope that we can solve some problems that have arisen and other stuff that we need to talk about. And of course, tackle SONGWRITING! :)

So far so good today. Must go feed myself now. WEEEEE!!!

Tuesday and finding Bob

It's a steady day today, with the one thing that most irked me is that I finished the love story of The Pioneer Woman (thepioneerwoman.com) who has become my idol. She is far from perfect, but is in her perfectly imperfect life living out in a ranch somewhere in the wilderness of Montana that I want to be a neighbor.

The best thing I did today was meander into the 2nd hand bookshop (or stall I should say) downstairs and find a GEM of a book that I'm still contemplating on whether or not I will give my friend Martin. Why am I debating, knowing that Bob Dylan's book of words and art will go down well with him? Coz that's his favorite artist ever. EVER. And well, since I found it, and I like Bob as well, but not in the same rabid fashion he does, I wanna have a go at it first...maybe keep it in my collection of books? ;) We'll see where this leads.

Since there's no work tomorrow, I reckon I can have a few drinks with friends tonight. And at C's bar/resto they'll be having food testing for paninis. HAPPINESS :) MORE FREE STUFF! Life is good. All I have to take care of now is finding that job that will let me outta this rut. That and may be knowing that I won't have to clean my kitten's poop tonight. DAMN. That reminds me, I need to make a grocery list for tomorrow. CAT FOOD and TOILET PAPER. Most important.

I hope this band will figure itself out. I want it so much to succeed! We just need a bassist. Maybe we can post on Facebook and Multiply and all the SNS for one. :) Til next time.....

Dreary Monday

Not only is it Monday, it is one dreary, rainy one. I wish it were one of those rainy days that is comforting (if there is such a day), or one that makes you happy it is raining. Today isn't just one of those days. It's just a dreary, gray and near depressing day. And a Monday to top it all off.

At least the weekend was fun. I had a great lunch yesterday with my two best friends, Miao and Vildebeest. We just went nuts over foie gras and steak and duck comfit and freshly grated black truffle on our risotto and ohlord, all the other yummy things that we ordered!!! This was in direct celebration of Miao's birthday, which will be tomorrow. :) An early celebration with the girlies which continued on from the restaurant to my favorite bookstore to cupcakes for the win. YUM YUM YUM. I haven't had that much fun in a while without C.

It's nice to get back to my touchstones, and these ladies are definitely my touchstones. I have a tattoo of this on my back as a testament of our trio and friendship. I put it in the middle of my back to respresent that they are my anchors, my "default setting", my touchstones.
That was my 5th tattoo. In the middle of my back. Thought it was the best place to put something that represents the 2 people in the world who are my anchors. When all boyfriends and jobs and families get in the way and make me nuts, they are the two people I run to for everything and they know me better than anyone else in this world.
Today I am promising myself that I will continue on with my story with a friend of mine. We're going to try and get this sucker out in time for Christmas so we can sell it!
I'm also in the middle of trying to organize a tattoo night in C's resto/bar with another artist friend of mine who also tattoos. She, along with this guy who's going to illustrate the book I'm writing (it's really a collaboration) and another group of artists (weewilldoodle.com) will be marking up the walls in C's resto/bar. I'm Ms. Coordinator for the project, amongst others. So I will now need to get off the blogging and send an email.
There, that helped pick my spirits up a bit! :)
