Holiday Wishes

Trying to get into the holiday spirit one day before the actual holidays is not that bad an effort.  Still, it's an effort.  Though, at the risk of sounding selfish, couple of things that I would like for Xmas that I am pretty sure I am not going to get, are these: 

Glow in the dark paint for my bathroom :)

Hungover Cookbook...I truly would love this book... It'd be so useful...

Beautiful ring...though two gems are a bit much, for me anyway

Any french press would be awesome :)

With that in mind, HAPPY HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU, CYBERWORLD :) Eat all that is put in front of you, be as thankful as you can be and make sure to remain horizontal for majority of the next 72 hours :)

A Friday in December

So the year is coming to an end and though it sure had its own dramas, it was more drama free than the last three years prior. Truth be told, I haven't had a more fun year. If I am to go through why this is, which I sort of reviewing any way in my mind, I would start with one word: CHANGE. I was single for a long time (since last year), after 4 years and by choice, spent the majority of this year as such, so I got to know a lot of new people.  Then I did one of my biggest fears of my life, which was to quit the corporate life, job and steady pay.  I am now self employed, with me trying to get gigs and clients to work with.  Thus far, I have been more than lucky, I've been downright BLESSED.

Because of all these changes, I now appreciate the little things in life such as my breakfast.  I love breakfasts anyway, but today I really loved mine.

Technically it is one of my favorite breakfasts of all time, a cheesy omelet topped with flat leaf parsley and mixed in with a dash of nutmeg and a wee bit of cayenne pepper.  Apart from that, it is DEAD EASY to make.  Throw in a few slices of toasted multi-grain bread, slather on some butter and YUM.

My favorite mug and civet coffee that I got from Vietnam earlier this year. YUM. Bit of condensed milk in there then away we go :)

A friend of mine is currently in Helsinki in Finland, a place I've always wanted to go to, and at the same time I saw this today as well :) 

I too love this post :) So so so cute these cook-y (pardon the pun) things! 

This is so so so my style of house, I love it.  I would probably add a little more color though, pale greens and blues maybe, and a splash of red somewhere.  I guess what they call Modern Rustic?  Much like this. Urg, Universe send me some mulahs! HAHAHAHA!

If there was another word to describe this year, it would be OPPORTUNITY.  I am being given such wonderful opportunities that I thought would not be available to me unless I had a day job.  Nowadays, I wake up late, stay up til when I like, and have had been able to get the jobs that I actually was dreaming about in the day job.  It is great! :) I can't wait til I start with it all! :) A movie (indie flick), then a new MP3 player, also there are some other things in the pipelines that aren't sure yet. 

Apart from that, I have the opportunity with changing the jaded & cynical way I have been since forever, thanks to a new person in my life. I will slowly introduce him, but I will take my time in doing so.  We just get on really well, and he's slowly turning into one of my bestest friends.

Now, I will end this by doing   

TEN THINGS THAT MAKE ME TERRIBLY HAPPY THIS DECEMBER based on this blog. 

Here we go: 

1. the gloomy weather; I like grey weather;

2. I also like the cool breeze when it is sunny;

3. white cheddar popcorn with a dash of cayenne pepper;

4. hot dark chocolate, also with a dash of cayenne pepper;

5. warm feet and hands;

6. cold and crisp sheets;

7. my friend Camille's baked brie;

8. midnight snack dates to secret places;

9. being home and being able to call my own time;

10. realizing that my dreams are actually DOABLE and getting them DONE.

New life

I haven't been able to write in ages here and I have been really bad about the keeping up with the blog.  I'm sorry about that, to all of the zero readers that read this blog. HAHAHA!

Anyway, new life...fabulous in my personal life, it has been a bit of a struggle in the money department but then again when hasn't it been? I think I will use this blog as my output in terms of the work / money journey. Thing is I have never been this happy in my life ever.  The not working is freaking me out a little and the cushion-y lifestyle I'm used to is surprisingly not bothering me as much as I thought it would.  The freedom of money is actually the one thing that is annoying me, not necessarily pissing me off, because I can live off little money, but just not having that income each month is stressing me out.  And that is only because of my "overhead", which is rent and bills. Argh the perils of adulthood. Ew.

Other than that, I'm good. I'm steady and I'm not really looking for anything more than what I have. It'll be nice to have a little nest egg, but other than that, I'm good.  I've never been happier.  I'm shouting it out to the Universe since it has been on my side this year, maybe it can throw me an end of the year bone....UNIVERSE!  Please a nice job? :) I would and could never ask about anything anymore, except maybe good health for all that I love, that's it :)  Thanks UNIVERSE!

Summer summer

It's been so unbearably hot that I'm trying to find new popsicle recipes.  Mojito maybe? :) hahahaha!  Wish that the summer was more this feeling, rather than the overbearing heat that permeates the air. Turning on the electric fan is like putting a blow dryer to your face.  No help.

I shouldn't really complain.  I've just been to the beach in Coron (YAY!! Another resolution / goal done!), Palawan and it was LOVE-ER-LEEE.  I wouldn't mind living there. Beautiful. Thanks to a really generous and really crazy friend, he was my benefactor for the trip. I will forever be thankful for that trip :)  It was absolutely fun and relaxing. Just the 3 days I needed to get away.

I've just realised that I've um, realised a few of my New Year's resolutions.  OK FINE. From two years ago. But hey better late than never!!! And the effort is there! :)  HAHAHAHA!

A lot of new starts this week which I hope move as fast as I'd like them to so I don't start getting bored. I can feel it coming on the tips of my fingers. Been wallowing for a while in doing nothing that my fingers are beginning to prune. 

Found this blog again.  Love the pictures from there :)  Especially because it shows the England I see when I used to live there. And of course there is THIS.  Provides endless wryness :)

Today I shall plunge forth and take the week by the horns. Let's see what that'll bring me!

So I've decided that this coming week is "braids and dress" week.  Then again I will try.  It's hard especially in the morning when I just want to get up and GO. I have practiced this hairstyle for a while and have been wanting to put it to use this week and I think I've sort of figured it out. First and foremost, my hair is so straight I need to wet it.  Then patience takes over.  :)

This should be an interesting week.  It'll start off with me ending my first ever DJing gig tomorrow night. I dunno how that's going to go, but it was not an easy decision.  I need to prioritize my day job over nighttime excursions and sadly, one of the biggest and most important meetings in my company happens on Tuesday morning. Must be responsible. 

This week of dresses and braids, I will also look forward to finally buying my shoes, buying a new AIRCON UNIT and hopefully have enough for THIS:

A band from the Philippines

I personally adore, ADORE this band.  I would like to share them with you because they are such lovely people and they play awesome music.  YAY! :)  Apart from that, this is a good, steady weekend soundtrack.  They made a couple of recordings with my cousin EO on drums. I wish I was on drums for "Get Rid of that Man"  Hands down, my favorite Toi song  :) ENJOY :)

Happy {random} Sunday!!!

Popping in quickly today to say HELLO!  And also to say that I want to do this little project :)   Awesome little project I can do to spice up my wardrobe...or better yet, make as presents! :)

I wonder if this site delivers to the Philippines.  I would like a lot of their patterns....who am I kidding.  I want them ALL. 

I would also like to go on this trip. Coron is one of our islands here in the Philippines that is beginning to catch on as part of the tourist route.  I would like to go before it gets all out touristy.  Would you like to come with? :)

I would totally wear this is if it actually got COLD here in Manila.

Watched the Stone Temple Pilots on Wednesday night. I will post the online article of that when it goes up on www.atthewomb.com :)

 I'm actually going to start a couple of new DJ gigs this week...overly ambitious, I know. I mean a 9-5 day job, then now a total of THREE DJ gigs a week?  I seriously need not go out.  If I can continue on this non smoking, non drinking streak, I think I will have it made. :)  

I usually play Top 40 stuff, no house for this lady.  I am not an avid fan and find that genre a little too repetitive.  Don't get me wrong, I like it, but since I don't listen to much of it, and it really isn't my forte, I try not to play it and leave it to the experts.  I am, after all just one year into my DJing and I'm still learning the ropes as far as I'm concerned. 

Anyway, I'm off to make my lunch packs and ready made coffee for the week :) hehehe :)  It's money saving time if I want to be able to go on that trip!!!  As well as the one I'm planning for Vietnam and Cambodia! :)

Holy heavens it's March!!! I'm so sorry I've left you unattended for a while but there have been QUITE a few things that have been going on.  Let's start off with the crappy stuff that I can sum up in one go:

I was and sort of still IS sick. :(  Had a cold, then an on and off fever, and cough. There are remnants of a cough, and a wee bit of the cold but otherwise I'm chippy as an be.

And the Stone Temple Pilots are coming next week here to Manila.  To say that I'm excited is an understatement :)  We don't get gigs like these in Manila very often so I will grab every chance I get. 

I was sick during Clapton's concert in Hong Kong, which was unbelievably COLD, but it was fantastic. FANTASTIC.  Here I wrote a whole article about it :) 

Now moving forward, I have stopped smoking cigarettes (!), which I am quite proud of, and why I don't mind being so sick and I've also been hanging out at home more. Since I do a lot of hanging out at home, I've also have gotten back to re-imagining my space.  I still want to paint my room a certain color, and I would like to clean up the state of the 2nd bedroom.  So here's what I've decided:  I will hold a garage sale.  I'm just waiting for a weekend that is free (nowadays there aren't many long weekends like last year) and plan it for then. I just wonder who will buy a 3rd hand air conditioning unit.

As I go through the blogs I've been following, I see that the back log I've got to catch up on is ENORMOUS. :(  Up for the challenge.  Let's see what are the things that inspire me today.
