Wishy Washy Wednesday

Since I live in the tropics, when we say that it's "typhoon seaon" it means that there will be a very, VERY good chance that roads will be clogged, traffic will ensue and it will take you an extra hour to get to where you want to go than the usual ONE HOUR.
So today, when I dragged myself out of bed, and it was STILL raining, as it has been for 2 days now, I knew, I KNEW whatever I wore will be supremely bad judgement.  ANYTHING.  And true enough, everything was soaked.  So today, I took it upon myself to order a pair of lovely rainboots, something I've actually been thinking of for a while, but today have acted on.  So here.  These boots will soon be mine.
Aren't they purrrty?  Plueys.
Aside from this, I completely forgot my drumsticks at home, a first time for me.  When I realised it, I totally panicked in the car and if it weren't for the facts that it was 1) raining with no visibility at ALL and 2) we were on the highway already, I would have totally made C go back THROUGH all that flooding to get it.
Anyway, good thing my friend who owns the studio has his sticks and will be there later, so I can just borrow them.  Thank the heavens we use the same weight sticks!  I wouldn't want my wrists to die in the middle of a song.  Or at all actually.  I need them for blogging!
Earlier this year, I have been reintroduced to the Little House books, and have fallen in love with them all over again.  I have tapped so much into the whole pioneer lifestyle of yesteryear, that I now would like this pair of boots from Frye:
I would however, maybe cut it down to mid calf.  I'm on the short side and I'm not sure I can rock the tallness of the boot.  Maybe a wee little bit off the heel too.  I'm strictly a sneakers girl.  If I haven't mentioned it on this blog yet, I will do so now:  I declare that I am not, repeat NOT a "heels" girl.  I am a sneaker/trainers/rubber shoes girl.  I love my Converse and that is what I  usually wear on a daily basis and is the ONLY pair I drum with.  Unfortunately, because of this weather ransacking my poor country, and since these shoes are made of canvas.....well, you see the problem.  Hence the rainboots that I'm getting that I have previewed up there.
I also wish I had had half the mind to bring "These Happy Golden Years" from the Little House series with me today so that I could finish (refinish?) reading it tonight while waiting for this rain to ease up.  *sigh*  Can't have everything I suppose.
