5 Things and resolutions :)

So how has your year been so far?  Mine seems to be speeding by a bit.  I wanted catch my breath and record some of it here.

So, I'm partly doing my resolutions.  Let's start off with that.  I had the bad experience of trying to get a book club together and none of them showing or, for some, not even texting back.  Of course I was annoyed.  Now, unless someone asks me to join, I will not start my own.  Divested too much time on that....just a shame and waste of time.  I'll read for myself any try to learn about new books by myself.  So yeah, I'm not giving up on Resolution #8!!!  Never say die!! :)

I am actually also doing something about Resolution #2.  I'm currently reviewing insurance plans for myself.  I already have 3 beneficiaries in mind.  Hehehe, NO I won't tell. ;)  So far so good.  The lady I'm speaking to is nice and explains things well, which I need especially since it's all numbers!!! (my weakness is math. I hate it and have never seen the point of learning more than multiplication and division.)

I wanted to also do the 5 Things again like I did HERE :)  Seems like a nicer way to pass the time and get stuff out.  It's also a good way to put things into FOCUS.

OK!  Let's begin.

TO ELIMINATE

1. My temper.
2. Unnecessary bullshit.
3. A few pounds. (OK FINE. More than a few)
4. Unhealthy habits.  Smoking and drinking, gradually.  Eating midnight snacks must GO.
5. Mess in the housey.

WANT / NEED

1. More time.

2. More sleep / rest.

3. More money (hahahaha!)

4. Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle.

5. Water heater and shelves that we bought to be installed!!! :)

3 Years of just cold water is enough penance I reckon.  And I actually feel good that I had a little bit of a hard time with this section, which I see to mean that there isn't much that I need or want. :)  Closer to contentment.  I like that.  :D

THANKFUL FOR

1. C and his super powers...admittedly, they're human super powers. It's good enough for me!
2. My new job and office.  It's like a second home and my brain is getting a nice workout.
3. Water
4. Neighbors and friends.
5. Being able to say something bad (perhaps) in a way that does not give offense (as it should be).

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!!

cool stuff

I haven't written in a LONG time I know, but I'm still trying to get the hang of the new job etc, so I'm so glad to find time to blog right now!!! :)

Cool and wonderful hat....I'd wear it, but not in the tropical Philippine heat.

A BEAUTIFUL BIKE, that's giving me ideas for the bike I'm planning to buy this weekend! :)http://www.doubletakesblog.com/2010/01/alexander-girard-for-electra-bikes.html

Really cool paper folds...who would've thought?!

WEEEEEEEE!!! :)

Legends of the Fall

Do you remember that movie?

It had Aidan Quinn (I've always loved his name) as oldest brother, Alfred.

Henry Thomas of ET fame as the youngest brother, Samuel.

Julia Ormond as the ill fated Susannah

Gorgeous Karina Lombard as Isabel Two, wife of Tristan and mother to his children

Anthony Hopkins as their father, Col. Ludlow

And of COURSE, Brad Pitt as the main man, Tristan.

This is the only time I've ever found Brad Pitt unbelieveably beautiful.

Aside from all this, I'm taken, in my 31 years, by the beautiful landscape of Montana.

HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THAT.  Absolutely gorgeous.  I wouldn't mind living there.

I don't know, something about the scenery, makes me feel peaceful inside somehow.  Makes me feel nice to see so much green.  Makes me happy.  Maybe someday I'll be able to have a place like that.  Maybe.  It's nice to dream though :)

So far, so good

So far, the year has been good.

So far, I've been keeping to my resolutions, and will start my detox very soon (it needs a lot of preparation).

So far, I haven't done my number #2 resolution ("Put away 1/3rd of my salary every month. Open new bank account to keep it in WITHOUT A DEBIT CARD. Maybe just an ATM card that will be kept at home. Or something."), but I'm trying to spend wisely.

Haven't done #3 ("SORT OUT THE FLAT. To work on it for the first quarter of the year so that by my birthday, I will be able to have people over without them tripping over boxes.") either BUT, am planning my strategy for Febuary.

Ok I've been actively trying to do resolutions #7 & 8.  ("Get a makeover. Nothing drastic, just start to not look too much like a teenager." and "Hopefully with the Book Club, to at least read one new book every month. " respectively)  I just sent out an email to my book club-mates. :)

Doing # 11 for sure, and trying my best to DO my best.

I'm surviving #12 the best I can. WHEW.

So ok, not too bad but not too great either.  I must try harder.  It's nearly halfway through the month!!!

It's now nice and cold and rainy outside.  Here's hoping it won't be another Ondoy.

I also did something last Saturday, a photoshoot to be exact, but I can't really say about it NOW.  Once it comes out, I'll spill all the beans and post the pics.  :)

My cousin's wedding this past Sunday was so much fun, that I think it was TOO much fun.  Still recuperating.  HEHEHE.

Trying to get into a routine and so far so good.

Just thought I'd share that with the world wide web. :D

First thing I've really wanted for 2010

Aside from the ever fleeting PEACE OF MIND....

I saw a friend of mine use this for this mic at a gig last night.  I wants it.

The Pioneer EFX500 DJ Effector!!!!!

I want this little gizmo:

But I think the red is pretty....

Either way, it seems like a nice little gizmo to play with.

I will try to get it from HERE.

Resolutions

Since today is the last day of the 'vacation', I thought today would be a good time to think about the year ahead and start planning.

And see it through this year around and not be one of those New Year "statistics" that break every one of their resolutions by February....which I used to be.  I will not be that person anymore!!!  AS THE WEB AS MY WITNESS!!!  I WILL NOW STICK TO ....er.....THE STUFF I SAY AS RESOLUTIONS!!!

Here we go:

1. Get detoxed sometime in the middle of February for at least one month.  If can be continued for longer, do it for longer.  Maybe til my birthday.

2.  Put away 1/3rd of my salary every month.  Open new bank account to keep it in WITHOUT A DEBIT CARD.  Maybe just an ATM card that will be kept at home.  Or something.

3.  SORT OUT THE FLAT.  To work on it for the first quarter of the year so that by my birthday, I will be able to have people over without them tripping over boxes.

4.  Go see doctors for everything in the first quarter of the year.  Get allergies sorted out.  Immunization and all shots should be done.  Try and get ACL operated on this year.

5.  Get the kittykids sorted out for this year.  Spay and neuter them :(  Maybe later in the year, get a huge cat tree for them so they can stop scratching everything else.

6.  Make songs every month.  Make enough for an album or EP by September. :)

7. Get a makeover.  Nothing drastic, just start to not look too much like a teenager.  (Though I had the best compliment last night when this doctor thought I was still in college.  THANKS DOC!!! )  More like a punked out Audrey Hepburn.  Start wearing skirts and dresses.  Edgy ones.  Maybe even with boots.  Ooooh...get boots.  And start wearing heels.  Cool ones.  With spikes. hehehe :)

\

8.  Hopefully with the Book Club, to at least read one new book every month.  If I can manage, 2-3 books.  I find I'm not so good with the classics.  And Jane Austen sounds cool to me now.

9.  Seriously look into pensions and life insurance plans.

10.  Seriously look into places abroad, just in case.

11. KICKASS AT WORK.  Learn as much as I can.

12.  Try and survive the elections.

13.  Be a good friend, daughter, sister, girlfriend, colleague to everyone I know. :)

OK.  That seems good to be starting off with.  :)

I love where I live: PART I - Uncle Moe's and Dave's yoghurt

Two favorites in the village my friends / neighbors live in....

Uncle Moe's is owned by a friend of mine from college.  When he opened a branch here in our village, it was manna for us.  Cheap and good persian food.  Shawarmas, koftas, etc.  YUM.

Big beef shawarma

Chicken kebab with rice (drool) with

tomato salsa :)

Dave's Yoghurt is behind Uncle Moe's.  His (Dave's) little store brags really yummy all natural yoghurt.  Kalamansi, choco hazelnut and grape are some flavors that rock our world. :)

The Menu :)

Part of the selection

:D

Awww :D  Healthy!!!

He makes yoghurt cakes :)

I love where I live. :)
